This site started with a simple annoyance. Search for "what size generator do I need" and you get two kinds of results. Calculators that multiply three numbers and stop. Or forum threads where the right answer is buried under twelve wrong ones.
The people who actually know this stuff, HVAC techs, electricians, contractors, use rules the calculators skip. Surge loads. Climate factors. Panel widths. So I collect those rules from manufacturer sizing guides and spec sheets, check them against each other, and turn them into tools that show their work.
Every page lists where its numbers came from. If one of them disagrees with your equipment's nameplate, the nameplate wins, and I'd like to hear about it.
